Michaela Bortle is a Washington, D.C.-based writer, communications consultant and policy advisor with a focus on geopolitical issues.

She has served as a speechwriter for a Secretary of State, the Command Staff at U.S. Strategic Command, and executives of a multinational corporation. She continues to work with thought leaders in government, business, publishing, academia, and the military on their messaging platform and audience engagement.

She also hosts a podcast, Geopolitics for Junior, that helps parents and teachers introduce issues in geopolitics to their kids and students in a fun and accessible way.

Michaela holds an M.A. in International Affairs from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University and has policy expertise in Arctic and strategic deterrence issues.
